Cyprus Palouze Festival
On Sunday 26 September, many villages in the Troodos wine regions will be celebrating with a Palouze Festival. This grape festival is held each year following the end of the grape harvesting.
Palouze is the name of the traditional Cypriot jelly-like blancmange that is made from the white grapes.
Many villages will hold their own Palouze Festival, and so if you live in or near a village in the Troodos wine regions, chances are you will have entertainment going on. Some of the villages that are sure to be celebrating with a festival are Vouni Village, Arsos village, and Salamiou village.
Most of the festivals will commence around 11.30 am, and will have traditional music and dancing, as well as local delicacies made of grapes, and of course no Palouze Festival would be complete without some Cyprus wine and a pot of Palouze!
