Friends for Life (Hospice Care Limassol) are holding their annual Christmas fund-raising fair at the Atlantica Miramar Hotel in Limassol this weekend, on both Saturday 27^th and Sunday 28^th November.

This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping, as there will be plenty of gift ideas available.

The Christmas fair will be held in the Conference Center of the Atlantica Miramar Hotel, and will run on both days from 11am until 7pm. There will be a 2 Euro admission charge for adults, whilst children can enter free. All of the door proceeds go to Friends for Life Hospice Care. Your entrance ticket will not only help donate to this fantastic charity, but it will also give you a chance to win a prize in the Grand Raffle. Prizes donated for the draw include 2 washing machines, and a one-night stay for 2 people at the Atlantica Miramar Hotel, including evening meal and breakfast.

Some of the things that will be available from the many stalls at the Christmas Fair include Tombola, Crafts, Aromatherapy products, Mosaics, Jewellery, Knitwear, Dolls houses, Hand-made cards, cakes, Chutneys and preserves, as well as a Pets Christmas stall. There will also be an art room where you can buy various paintings.

Food and drinks can be purchased from within the hotel.

Friends for Life is a registered charity, based in Limassol. They are completely reliant on fund-raising as they do not receive any government funding. All the staff and helpers are unpaid volunteers. The Friends for Life hospice is in Limassol, and provides care to terminally ill patients of any age in the Limassol District, irrespective of race, religion, status, or ability to pay. The hospice, based at Kapsalos, consists of a 3-bedded room, and offers short-term palliative care, whilst seeking to enable cancer patients to continue an alert, pain-free life with dignity, surrounded by their loved ones.  

They also have two second-hand shops from which funds are raised. Always needed are donations of clothing, shoes, books, kitchen equipment, ornaments, pictures, electrical goods, and small pieces of furniture. Or why not pop along and see if there is something you wish to buy, you may find a bargain. The shops locations and opening hours are as follows:-

Shop 1 is on Leontiou Street – travelling from Markarios Avenue (Fairways) the shop is on the right about 400 m before St Barnabas Church.

Opening Hours:  09.30 to 12.30 Monday to Saturday.

Shop 2 which is run by The German Speaking Protestant Church in Cyprus is at 56 Platonos Street (next to Nektarios Church).

Opening Hours: 09.30 to 12.30 Monday to Saturday and until 15.00 on Wednesday.
