Cyprus Events 2012

The Paphiakos 13th Annual Hot Dog Show will take place on Sunday 2nd May, at the Paphos Harbour in front of the medieval castle. This all day charity event starts at 8am and goes on until 6pm.

The incentive is to raise much needed funds for the food and welfare of the animals in the care of Paphiakos Animal Rescue Shelter, as well as to offer a day of fun for all, and the honour of your dog winning a show rosette.

The Mayor of Paphos Savvas Vergas will declare the show open at 8am. Dog shows and judging will go on throughout the day, with short breaks for entertainment. In all there will be 16 categories of show dog entries, which will commence at 9am.

If you haven’t yet entered your dog, you should do so 24 hours before the show, contact Paphiakos clinic for entry forms or download a form in English or Greek here. There will still be a chance to enter your dog up to an hour before the show begins, and the cost is 10 euros.

Many dog lovers come along to enjoy and support the event, and it is an all round family day with the very popular Paphos Police Dogs displaying their work, as well as singing and dancing,  food and drink, games for the children and more for your entertainment. Entrance fee is €2 and kids get in free. Remember that the proceeds go to the upkeep of the animals, so its all in a very good cause.

The ‘Best in Show’ category will be the final show, and will take place at 5.30 pm, followed by a Grand Raffle to close the show.
